Railway & Train

It was Mid-Autumn Festival yesterday! Did you spend yours playing with lanterns and sparklers and munching on yummy mooncakes? Well, Bielet exhausted all the batteries on her lanterns so she couldn't play last night. LOL

Anyways on an unrelated note, wanted to do a post on our day out a few Sundays ago :)) Better late than never, eh? There was a heritage event at the former Tanjong Pagar Railway Station with a superb display of vintage cars. It was awesome to see such an extensive collection of old beauties gathered in a single space.

Here are some of our faves!

There was also a chance to hop onto a remodelled VW Kombi van around the grounds of the station (but we missed the timings unfortunately). If you're interested to rent a VW from their fleet, check out details from their website.

Since the station is defunct, we decided to hop onto a train of a different kind a few miles away - VivoCity! Rendy told me about this new ride a while back but despite our best planning, we never got a chance to bring Bielet here :(( So ZX brought us to Vivo for lunch and the train ride!

Tickets in hand, awaiting our turn up the Mini Train Express. From now until 27 Oct 2012, purchase tickets at their special promo rate of $5 (usual $6). The counter is on Level 1, near SingKids (in between Harbourfront and Vivo). Check out VivoCity's promo page here.

Exchanging introductions of the kiddos. Bielet looks on suspiciously.

Wheeeeeeeeeeeee! The electric train rounds the waterfront promenade with views of the nearby cruise liners and Sentosa. What I didn't appreciate was that the outdoor area is the congregation smoking spot so we were taking in the second hand smoke too. Boo.

Bielet looking out of the train window. Hmmmm, wonder who she is looking at so intently...

It's Papa! With a drink in hand, ZX followed the train the entire way. LOL. Took it as exercise!

This was Bielet with ZX's drink before the ride. Funny right!

Bielet loved the choo-choo :)) Thanks for letting us know about the ride, Rendy! Let's go another time!

As for lunch, we had a yummy one at Crystal Jade. Thought the milk tea was super cool, but very leh-chey to pour after a while. I much prefer a big cup of milk tea, thankyouverymuch.

If you peer at the reflection of the golden teapot, you'll see all three of us in it! ZX on his iphone, Bielet drawing a storm with her pen and paper and me taking photos. LOL. Typical meal.

We heart our xiaolongbaos!

And so does Bielet!

Such a nice day out. Despite me not 'working', it seems like it's harder for us to organise our schedules around family time :(( So it was a particularly happy day for us! Here are some of my favourite shots of the day. Love!

Hand in hand :))

Bielet's trademark pose as she calls out "Big Mile" (meaning "Big Smile", our cue to take out the camera to snap her!)

Acting coy. Super like.
