Bielet's New Shoes (Again!)

Somehow, we have much difficulty finding shoes that fit Bielet's feet comfortably. We were rather unfussy at the start when Bielet didn't walk around too much, but now that she walks everywhere (yeah I don't know what we bought the stroller for...), we are concerned that Bielet's feet growth will get stunted or something.

Good thing we hit the jackpot with Stride Rite (as I blogged here previously). I know we're supposed to get a fit check every 3-4 months but our horrible procrastination meant that we waited until the last last minute to get new shoes. And then I found out about the United Square kids bazaar where prices were super slashed, so I dragged Bielet there to get her new footwear.

Big mistake. We were there on the first day of the sale but it was already overrun with people - and the Stride Rite corner was complete chaos. It was utterly disgusting to see these parents literally throwing shoes out of their boxes and across the baskets, and even leaving box after box of half filled or mismatched shoes on the floor. HELLO what example are you setting for your kids!?!?!?! And obviously nobody cared about me or that I was carrying a kid so it was simply impossible to find any shoe. $^*(*&%^^#^#$^&%

On the flip-side, the Stride Rite store was right by the bazaar so we parked our sorry bums there instead, otherwise we would never get out of the bazaar alive. On the flippier-side, some sale items were available in the store. Woohoo!

Ze buys! :))

SRT PS Tenley

Btw, SRT stands for Sensory Response Technology (which is designed specifically for preschoolers). The sleek leather upper and leather lining make this such a classy pair, eh? Its sensory pods are also supposed to promote a healthy gait. [Aunty moment: This was the pair we got on sale - 50% off! YAY!]

Sugar & Spice Sapphire

Bielet loved the lights and sparkles on this pair! She modelled the shoes in front of the mirror and kept jumping around to activate the lights -_-" These mary jane sneakers will replace her current Oscar The Grouch ones for tearing around the playground. Wonder how long the lights' batteries will last for this duracell bunny! [Aunty moment: Utilised a $10 voucher from the SmartKids Asia Expo!]

On a side note, Bielet asked "Where Oscar Grouch shoes?" when I asked her to put these on instead. Before I could answer, she continued sadly, "Heidi pee pee Oscar Grouch shoes. Mama throw away." (She did do the pee bit actually, cuz that was one of the first times she went diaperless in school and was too scared/shy to use the kiddy loo.) So I had to tell her that she did soil her shoes but we cleaned and dried them, just that her feet are now too big for them so we are buying bigger shoes now.

Silly little Bielet.

Doesn't seem like the best outfit but the leggings actually have shiny, silver glitter panels on the side and she was wearing an uber cute white vest with pink cherry blossoms and a yellow polka dotted collar on top. Had to remove the vest cuz it was too hot though...

Shucks. I should restart her lookbook so she doesn't look like a slob on this blog!
